BENNY (“CRACKERS WARPAINT”)

DOB:  4/11/93

 

Benny (also known as “Benevolence”, due to his good nature) was born in Indiana in 1993.  He is a registered Chestnut Overo Paint. He received training in his earlier years in the areas of general western and trail riding, and eventually moved to Enterprise, Ala. He ended up abandoned in his field there in Fall of 2015, when his owners were transferred to Alaska.  In July of 2016, GRACE Rides was contacted about his situation, and sent ambassadors to his rescue to bring him to our facility.  He had been living in an open field, with little grass available, and had suffered loss of weight, sun burn, rain rot, and lack of any grooming or hoof care for the months prior to coming to us. 

 

After vet work, farrier work, and general intensive rehab care over several months, Benny began his service in our therapeutic riding program in early 2017. In early 2018, he added our mental health program to his service duties.  He excels in every respect, always being willing to do whatever is asked and being very agreeable and careful with all his riders.
